The Two Witnesses - Not Yet Publicly Active

I decided to write this post because of all of the ridiculous claims being made by many would-be "two witnesses" and their innumerable, witless followers.

Let me make this statement absolutely clear and without ambiguity:

The two witnesses, two prophets spoken of in chapter 11 of the "Book of the Revelation to John" in the Christian bible, are NOT YET PUBLICLY ACTIVE!

How can one be so sure of this?  Simple, really... the necessarily chronological ordering of the trumpets (outlined in Revelation chapters 8 through to 11) tells us that the two witnesses are the second woe of the three woes marked by the fifth, sixth and seventh (final) trumpets; they are the "woe" brought by the sixth trumpet but all indications are that the events of the fifth trumpet are yet to occur and nobody has any reasonable evidence to suggest that they have already occurred.  This being the case and the trumpets being, clearly, chronologically ordered, it is thus impossible that the two witnesses of Revelation 11 have already begun their public ministry.  For all who read this and think they are already observing the pronouncements and testimony of the two witnesses somewhere on the Internet, think again.... do not be deceived by those false prophets.  Christ warned us that many such false prophets would arise in the end times just prior to his return, and I emphasize the fact that he said MANY.  Having studied the subject of the two witnesses for a number of years, with my first gleanings of related information (besides the scripture of Revelation 11 itself) dating back almost 20 years, I have written much in the way of personal notes on my studies of this subject and have come to some conclusions some time ago, which on finer points are sometimes in need of refinement, but I am quite confident that we are yet to witness numerous events that must precede the public appearance of the two witnesses.  Whether such events occur quickly over a short time span or slowly over many years, or perhaps somewhere in between these two extremes, is not the issue here under consideration.  The only issue is whether or not any of those currently claiming to be one (and in some more bizarre cases, both) of the two witnesses is something we need to consider.  My conclusion is that it is not... all current claimants to being one (or both) of these end-time prophets can be safely, summarily dismissed, because even those that are the two witnesses will not be acting in that capacity until after the completion of the events of the fifth trumpet, and as such cannot make claims as to their God-given tasks before their time.  The true two witnesses would not, in any case, do such a thing.  Additionally, claims that ignoring them will result in going to your eternal destruction can also be dismissed, since they are not Christ and so they are not saviours upon which we rely.  There is only ONE TRUE CHRIST.

The thought does cross my mind that I should publish some of my conclusions about these two prophets but I am usually reticent to do such things because of the stern warnings of the scripture about the responsibility of those who teach, and even though I could not be regarded as such, the mere fact that people reading this blog may take what I say to heart is a great enough concern to me such that I am reluctant to say too much.  The Lord has not directly told me to publish such material but He has indicated to me on several occasions His great displeasure at the increasing population of false prophets misleading many into either pointless panic or dull-minded complacency.

As always, when examining the claims of would-be "two witnesses" and other self-proclaimed "prophets", one must split hairs, divide sinew from bone, every point such claimants make can be a point of contention and if it is not in agreement with the revealed word on any single, even seemingly minor point, and worse still, if it is at all contrary in even the most minute issue, discard it as utterly worthless rubbish and waste no time on that blog or site any more.  Do not feed their delusion.  It is a disservice to yourself and to that lost soul.  Instead, pray for them, for their tightly closed eyes to be opened.

I fully understand that in some cases people may decide to dismiss me and the things that I say, and they are well within their right to do so.  I have no complaint about that and never have made the claim that I have super-privileged knowledge that nobody else is privy to and that you must listen to what I say or be damned... nope, no such claim.  My prayer is always that the Lord lead those whose hearts are all for Him into all truth, whatever that may turn out to be.
